 So I’m pretty sure by now most of ya’ll are wondering, who’s Terrence Franklin & why I decided to do a post about him. 

Before we even get to his own definition of who he is personally & musically, I must say Terrence F is a brilliant talent at what he does, & takin into consideration the fact that I was tired of all these twitter rappers, I must say I was surprised when I was introduced to Terrence F’s music.
He’s more than JUST your everyday rapper, he’s a musician, but most importantly, A WRITER. 
Everything from his lyrics to his mellow beats, just reminds you how deep & sincere music can be in todays scene. 
I got to ask him some questions, so … 

Here’s a look into the mind of Terrence F.  

Who is Terrence F? 

Ok, I used to work at this grocery store, right? The manager told me to bag the groceries but i kept fuckin’ up. She got mad and told me to go wash the windows outside and i was like ‘The big windows out front?’ She said ‘Yea…the ones out front’. So i went out there, ran to my car, drove off and never came back. That was after 6 days of workin’ there. Then i had this OTHER job. All i did was stock Oreos all day. They fired me because i showed up to work in jeans. That was some bullshit. I don’t really know who i am….i guess i’m still tryna figure out. Oh, i just recently got into ‘sexting’. It’s alot more fun than i thought. Do you sext? Terrence F. is a sexter. I sent this white girl a picture of my junk the other day…..so funny. I’m not that perverted tho. I swear. 

What makes you different in a world filled with so-called ‘Upcoming rappers”?

Rapper…..i hate that word. It’s so dismissive. Rappers are the cool people. Cool cool cool. Cool 24/7. Cool to the point where they don’t know how to take their cool OFF. Actually, i don’t know if they don’t KNOW how to take it off, or they’re scared. I’m leaning towards them being scared. They feel like they have to maintain this like…image or somethin’. So they write songs full of lies to try to create some fantasy world around them to attract certain things. Popularity, girls or whatever. They tend to be rappers first, and people second. They forget to be humans. I am a human first, artist second. That sets me apart a little. Well, alot. 


What’s the inspiration for your lyrics?  
 
My heart talks to me all day, everyday. She tells me what to say and i say it. She tells me what to do and i do it. I don’t like to question her. She always seems to lead me in the right direction. You have to know how to shut the fuck up and listen to her sometimes. Most people neglect their hearts because they don’t wanna appear ‘vulnerable’. Or ‘weak’. But there is no force in this universe stronger than love though. Love is automatic but people constantly fight it. You have to open up and let it happen. I don’t really try too hard. Which is why the most potent songs i have were written in 15-20 minutes. I allow love to flow thru and the song just…..happens. People are backwards as fuck. I don’t get it. The heart is a truth teller. And most people are scared and can’t handle the truth. So they run far and fast away from it. And that means that they’re running away from themselves. Some people call it being fake. I call it being a bitch. Afraid. That kinda also answers that last question you just asked me. 

From reading your journals on Tumblr it seems like you put all your energy in working or writing, what keeps you THAT focused?
 
A year ago, i made a conscious decision that this is what i wanted to do with my life. I decided to become an artist. There is no half-assing when it comes to this profession. It’s 100% or nothing at all.

What are your plans for the future music wise? 
 
I’m writing this project called ‘Love is Automatic’. That’s all i’m worried about right now. I kinda just live day to day. In the present. After that, then i’ll see wassup. That’s about to change alot of people’s perspective on life. 
 
From your personal point of view, what’s the state of hip hop at the moment?
 
Fuck ‘hip hop’. That word, just like rapper, i can’t stand. It does nothing but separate people nowadays. Everybody is imposing their views of what they think hip hop is on each other. It’s the stupidest shit ever. So, in that sense, ‘hip-hop’ is FUCKED UP. Musically, it’s ok i suppose. But socially, not so much…10 years ago, you didn’t have such critical fans. I mean, you have people who literally HATE an artist because they don’t enjoy their music. Not only do they hate the artist, but they hate that artist’s fans as well. That’s crazy to me..
